The Craft

Our
Coverage

1

Agave Selection

We only use 100% Blue Weber Agave, harvested by hand at peak maturity (7-9 years) from the iron-rich soils of Amatitán.

2

Slow Cooking

The agave hearts (piñas) are slow-cooked in traditional stone ovens for 48 hours to unlock their natural essence and sugars.

3

Copper Distillation

Small batch double distillation in copper stills ensures absolute purity and the signature smoothness of Blue Barrel.

Production Journey

Our Processes

Every bottle begins in the field and moves through a carefully controlled artisanal process. Each stage below is arranged like a premium process map so the story feels more visual, memorable, and easy to understand.

01

Plantation

We select the best fields and Blue Weber agaves, applying the right care to support optimal development through the first four to five years of growth.

The leaves, or pencas, are carefully removed to reveal the heart of the plant, the pineapple of the agave, where the sugars and carbohydrates used to create tequila are stored.

03

Cooking

The pineapples are cooked at high temperature to unlock their sugars, traditionally in masonry ovens for long, even cooking that preserves the character of the agave.

Once cooked, the agave enters the milling process, where the fibers are crushed into a soft pulp that can be pressed and prepared for juice extraction.

Milling

05

Extraction

The sugars contained in the agave fibers are gently extracted through diffusion, spraying water over the pulp to obtain the juice that will become tequila.

Fermentation develops naturally, without accelerating the process, allowing the richness of the agave juice to evolve over several days into a more expressive base spirit.

07

Distillation

The liquid is distilled with carefully selected stills to refine purity, structure, and character, giving the spirit the smooth profile that defines Blue Barrel tequila.

Finally, the tequila is rested or aged according to its expression, then prepared for bottling and final presentation with the depth, balance, and elegance expected from the brand.
